Lillian McQueen Anderson Paduh

Services for Lillian McQueen Anderson Paduh age 96 of Grapeland will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 24, 2018 at the First Baptist Church at Friday Community in Trinity County. Burial will follow in the Flat Prairie Cemetery, Trinity County, TX. A visitation will be held 30 minutes prior to service at the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.

Lillian McQueen Anderson Paduh passed away peacefully Sunday morning, February 18, 2018, at Cartmell Home for Aged, where she had been a resident for the past forty two months. She was born May 13, 1921 at Old Willard, Trinity County, Texas to Pearl and C.W. McQueen, Sr. The oldest of six children, sisters, Lucille and Mary Alice, brothers, C.W., Jr., Henry Earl, and William Paul. Growing up in the Flat Prairie Community she attended Pennington school and graduated with the class of 1939.

Then in June she started a new chapter in her life by marrying Lonnie Anderson and residing in Friday, Texas on the farm where she became the mother of two boys, James Vernell and Jack Weldon Anderson. She attended and became a member of  First Baptist Church of Friday.

January 1962 started the third chapter in her life. She divorced and started a new life, working at the basket factory and moving to Trinity, Texas, later working at the hospital where she developed a love for nursing, getting her LVN license and beginning a new life.

The fourth chapter begin in 1971 when she relocated to Pasadena, Texas where she worked for Southmore and Bayshore hospitals. During this time she met and married Joseph W. Paduh, Sr. Now she gained a step-daughter Linda and four step-sons Joseph W. Paduh, Jr., Ronnie, Wally, and Johnny. After retiring in 1982 she and Joe moved to Trinity, Texas. She continued to work at the hospital and nursing home after Joe passed away in 1986 until 1997. She was active at Calvary Baptist Church and at 4:00 P.M. you could find many from the Sunday School Class at her house drinking coffee and sampling one of her cakes or pies.

Leading up to the final chapter of her life she moved to Grapeland, Texas. The greatest joy in her life was grandchildren and great grandchildren, and the members of her Sunday School Class.

July 2014 Alzheimer disease took her away but God through his grace took her to start a new uninterrupted life.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Lonnie Anderson and Joseph W. Paduh, her parents, C.W. McQueen and Pearl Mansell McQueen, son and step-sons, Jack W. Anderson, Wally Paduh, and Ronnie Paduh, step granddaughter Tawana Hill, brothers and wives, C.W. McQueen, Jr. and wife Wanda, Henry Earl McQueen and wife Nadine, sister and husband Lucille Jones and husband Sam. She is survived by her son, James Vernell Anderson and wife Patsy of Tyler, step-sons, Joseph Paduh and wife Pam of San Antonio, Johnny Paduh and wife of League City, step-daughter, Linda Hill and husband Tommy of LaPorte, grandchildren Leon Anderson and wife Amy of Mineola, Shelly Barron and husband Andrew of Omaha, TX., Deborah Anderson and Douglas Anderson of Arkansas, great grandchildren Austin Anderson, Texas A&M University, Riley Anderson, Texas A&M University, Jackson Anderson of Mineola, and Mason Lemons, North Texas State University.   

A special thanks to the staff, nurses, and employees of Cartmell Home for Aged and the Heart to Heart Hospice staff.

Honorary pallbearers will be Sam Jones, Billy Jones, Donnie McQueen, Jeff McQueen, David McQueen, Bill McQueen, Austin Anderson, Riley Anderson, Jackson Anderson and Mason Lemons.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the First Baptist Church in the Friday Community, 3247 FM 1280, Groveton, TX 75845.
