Christine Schulman

Christine Schulman, 83, of Latexo, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2018 in the Tyler ETMC hospital.  Christine was born October 28, 1934 in Latexo to parents, Albert Turner and Birdie Mae Weisinger Turner. She graduated from Latexo High School as valedictorian and then graduated from Sam Houston State University with bachelor and master’s degrees in education.  Christine taught and retired from teaching.   She was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church and attended Latexo Baptist Church.  Christine and her husband, Bill Schulman owned and operated the Ritz Theater in Crockett for many years.

Christine is survived by sons, Morris Schulman and wife, Melissa of Weatherford, Mark Schulman and wife, Nancy of Waco, Craig Schulman and wife, Cheryl of Bryan; grandchildren, Jackie Schulman, Jacob Schulman, Lauren Schulman Thorne, Nathan Schulman, Joshua Schulman, Alex Schulman, Clayton Schulman, Emily Schulman, Regan Schulman, Caroline Schulman; great-grandchildren, Brendan, Griffin, Elly, Kyleigh, Kole, Kacie, Kannon; sister, Valta Engstrand and husband, Walter of Elkhart; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.  She was preceded in death by husband, Bill Schulman; grandson, Morris Schulman, Jr.; parents, Albert and Birdie Mae Turner;  brothers, Albert Turner, Jr., Dalton Turner,  A. B. Turner; sisters, Genova Pike, Faye Collins, Billie Jones.

Funeral services for Christine Schulman were held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 16, 2018 in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel in Crockett with Rev. Randy Redkey officiating.  Interment followed in the Evergreen Memorial Park.  Family received friends for visitation Tuesday, May 15, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hospice Brazos Valley, 502 West 26th Street, Bryan, TX  77803 or www.hospicebrazosvalley.org/donate.html.
