Robert A. Keene, Jr.

Robert A. Keene, Jr., age 89, of Crockett passed away Sunday, September 11, 2016 in Silsbee. He was born April 21, 1927 in Raymondville, Texas to parents Robert A. Keene, Sr. and Anna Belle Anderson Keene. Robert enjoyed camping, hunting, playing cards and dominos, and tinkering but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. He bravely served his country during World War II in the United States Marines and went on to retire from Armco Steel in Houston. Robert then went to work at the United States Postal Service and was employed with the Crockett Post Office as Clerk and Step-up Post Master from 1982 until his retirement.

He is survived by three children, Jimmy Keene and wife, Patsy of Buchanan Lake, Gary Keene and wife, Sue of Porter, and Sharon Keene Williams and husband, Michael of Pasadena; seven grandchildren, Phillip Keene, Jill Mathena and husband, Mark, Ginger Sturm, Kristin James and husband, Michael, Melissa Williams, Natalee Keene, and Katee Keene; fifteen great-grandchildren, Jordan, Travis , Shelby, Jacob, Jimmy II, Adyn, Payton, Bayleigh, Emily, Harrison, Jaxon, Adyson, Hailee, Graeson and Trenton; one great-great-grandchild, Aubrhee; sisters, Dolly Evans and husband, Bobby, Daisy Brown; brother, Floyd Keene; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Lois Jaunita Keene; parents, Robert A. Keene, Sr. and Anna Belle Anderson Keene; brother, Lloyd Keene; sisters, Cavita Keene and Billye Rust.

Military Graveside Services for Robert A. Keene, Jr. will be held Sunday, September 18, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. in the Lovelady Antioch Cemetery. Family will receive visitors at Callaway-Allee Funeral Home, 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 18, 2016.
