Masonic graveside services for Earl Jackson Kennon age 91 of Houston was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at Evergreen Cemetery, Percilla, Texas. Arrangements have been entrusted to Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.
Earl Jackson Kennon was born on July 14, 1927 to Eddy and Madie Kennon in Stephens County,
Texas and passed away November 26, 2018 in Houston, Texas. He leaves behind his wife, Eula of 67 years and daughter, Linda of Ventura, California. He has one niece, Sue Brown of Odessa, Texas. Preceding him in death was one brother, Paul Allen Kennon and nephew, Tom Kennon.
He graduated from Caddo High School and John Tarleton Agricultural College in Stephenville, Texas. Then inducted into WWII Army and honorably discharged November 1946. Earl enjoyed writing, publishing and singing gospel music. He was a York Rite, Shriner, Scottish Rite Mason, Sugar Land Masonic Lodge 1141. In 1947, he was employed by Magnolia Petroleum Company later becoming Exxon Mobil. He was transferred and moved his family to Houston in 1976 where he retired. He was a member of Unity Church of Christianity. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Unity Church of Houston.
A visitation was held from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home, 207 S. Magnolia, Palestine, Texas 75801.
