Charles Robert “Bob” DeBolt

Charles Robert “Bob” DeBolt, age 84 of Crockett, Texas, formerly of Arlington, Texas was called home on Monday, August 21, 2017 in Crockett, Texas. Bob was born September 25, 1932 in Tulsa Oklahoma to parents Charles Edgar DeBolt and Phyllis McAdoo DeBolt. Bob moved to Altoona, Kansas during his second year of elementary school where he met the love of his life, Delilah. Bob and Delilah were married October 24, 1949. Through their years of marriage and transfers they were always active members in their church homes. They joined the First Baptist Church after moving to Crockett in 2010, and they both sang in the church choir for as long as Bob’s health allowed. Bob was an avid sports fan being a Dodgers season ticket holder and attending World Series, NFL playoff games, and 1984 Olympic events. Along with the Dodgers, he was also a huge Dallas Cowboys and Oklahoma University Sooners fan. Bob retired from Atlantic Richfield Company (ARCO), originally Sinclair Pipeline Company, as an accountant after 37 years of service. Bob began his career with Sinclair in Independence, Kansas. During his tenure with ARCO Bob joined the Alyeska Pipeline Project in the late 60s which resulted in transferring from Kansas to Houston, Texas; Bellevue, Washington and Anchorage, Alaska. Bob left the pipeline project in 1976 and transferred to Los Angeles, California where he resided until 1987 when he was transferred to Dallas, Texas.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Pops and Mom DeBolt; sister, Lois Louise DeBolt Wiles; nephew, Charles Lester “Skeeter” Wiles; grandson, Kyle Douglas Ekstrom and son-in-law, Udell Bodwell.

His memory will live on in the hearts who survive him; wife and best friend, Delilah June Lea DeBolt; daughters, Terry Bodwell,  Bobby Wooten and husband, David, Jacque Fleming and husband, Raymond, Michaela Tuttle and husband, Greg; son, Charles “Chuck” DeBolt and wife, Tracy; 19 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; and niece Phyllis Wiles Flatterich and husband, Jerry.

Memorial services for Charles Robert “Bob” DeBolt will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, September 2, 2017 at the First Baptist Church, Crockett, Pastor Keeney Dickenson officiating.
