Kenneth Ray Baker

Kenneth Ray Baker, age 58, of Lovelady passed away Monday, July 17, 2017 at CHI St. Joseph Hospital in Bryan. Kenneth was born December 24, 1958 in Trinity to parents, Elliott James “E.J.” Baker and Mary Alice Poe Baker. Kenny worked for Wedco, Inc in Lovelady for 19 years prior to his retirement from Texas Department of Criminal Justice – Eastham Unit. Kenny enjoyed spending time with friends and family, especially his beloved grandchildren.

Kenneth is survived by his children, Rusty and Julie Baker of Lovelady, Ashley & Bobby Shoemake of Latexo; grandchildren Layne and Landon Shoemake of Latexo, Rylan and Andi Jo Baker of Lovelady; sisters, Brenda Reed and husband, Woody of La Grange, Kathy Baker McHargue of Huntsville; nieces, Cameron Shelly, TTione Currie and husband, Neal; nephews, Justin Baker and wife, Kristin, Bunky Shelly and wife, Kendra, and Brandon Reed; numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, E. J. and Mary Baker; brother, Bobby Charles Baker; sister, Winnie Kay Baker Frey.

Funeral services for Kenneth Ray Baker were held Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at 10 a.m. in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with Rev. Keith Smith officiating. Interment followed in the Lovelady Antioch Cemetery. Family received friends for visitation Tuesday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
