Raymond J. Rabbitt, Jr.

Raymond J. Rabbitt, Jr., age 93, of Conroe passed away Thursday, February 16, 2017 in Shenandoah, TX.  Raymond was born August 18, 1923 in Bronx, New York to parents, Raymond James Rabbitt, Sr. and Amelda M. Herrmann Rabbitt.  He was a veteran of the United States Army during World War II, served in the European Theater having received the Purple Heart, Bronze Star and Combat Veteran Award.    He married Olga Marie Muller February 17, 1946 at St. Christopher Catholic Church in Baldwin, New York and they were married until her death December 16, 2012. In 1948, he received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Hofstra University in Hempstead, NY and afterward got a job for Shell Oil working from 1948 to 1977 retiring as Senior Staff Representative. Raymond and Olga moved to Crockett, TX July 1, 1981 where they lived for 26 years before moving to Conroe January 15, 2007.  While in Crockett, they were active members of the St. Francis of the Tejas Catholic Church.  He is survived by sons, James R. Rabbitt and wife, Dorinda of Montgomery and John M. Rabbitt and wife, Diana of The Woodlands; grandchildren, Amy Hersey, Michael Rabbitt, David Rabbitt, Jimmy Rabbitt and Christine Rabbitt; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.  A private family service was held for Raymond J. Rabbitt, Jr. Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel.
