George Robert Broxson

Mr. George Robert Broxson, age 93, of Lovelady passed away December 8, 2016 in Tyler. He was born May 3, 1923 in Lovelady to parents, Enoch Jones Broxson, Sr. and Zula Sanders Broxson. Mr. Broxson served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II having attained the rank of Corporal. He was a member of the Lovelady First Baptist Church for 81 years and the Lovelady Masonic Lodge # 539. Mr. Broxson was received, admitted and constituted a Noble of the Mystic Shrine, Sharon Temple of Tyler, Texas.  He served on the Lovelady ISD School Board and the Lovelady City Council. Mr. Broxson was the Chairman of the Board of the Lovelady State Bank.

 He is survived by his wife of seventy-two years, Dorthie Romans Broxson of Lovelady; sons, Jerry Broxson and wife, Virginia Craven Broxson of Lovelady, Mike Broxson and wife, Carol Rollo Broxson of Lovelady; daughter, Lawanna Broxson Monk and husband, Bruce Monk of Lovelady; grandchildren, Brandi Molnes and husband, Terrey, Wendy Tullos and husband, Shannon, Michelle Murray and husband, David, Mark Broxson and wife, Eva, Mandy Wilson and husband, Greg, Cayla Ables and husband, Cody, Craig Broxson and wife, Kyleen; great-grandchildren, Hunter, Ethan, Colby, Carter, Riley, Cooper, Isabelle, Lane, Lily, Levi, Brynn and Lyla; brother, E.J. Broxson, Jr. and wife, Thelma; sisters, Pauline McPhail, Betty Beddo Miller and husband, J.D.; brother-in-law, G.R. Romans and wife, Helen; numerous nieces, and nephews who were very dear to George and his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Enoch Jones Broxson, Sr. and Zula Sanders Broxson; sisters, Lucille McCelvey and husband, Fred, Norma Hiser and husband, Al, Dorothy Millican and husband, Glynn; brothers-in-law, Billy Beddo and Charlie McPhail.

 Funeral services for George Robert Broxson will be held Sunday, December 11, 2016 at 2:00 p. m. in the Lovelady First Baptist Church with Rev. Ottis Byers, Mr. Walter Flippo and Mr. Doug Musgrove officiating. Interment to follow in the Lovelady Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation Saturday, December 10, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Callaway-Allee Funeral Home.
