HOUSTON COUNTY –  Long before the much anticipated Presidential election in November, there are many local races across the county coming in May, with time to declare a candidacy for those races now open. From the county hospital board to city councils and school boards, there is always a place to serve and represent your neighbors in our local governments.

For those interested in throwing their hats in the ring, you have until Feb. 16 to do so, by contacting the entity you are interested in and getting more information. Some cities and schools will be administer their own elections, while Houston County Elections Office will do the work for some, but the place place to find out more is at the local school or city office where you would like to run.
