Grapeland Library News

Submitted by: Annette Parham GPL Volunteer

We just completed our Annual Summer Reading program which was a great success. Many thanks to the Lion’s Club, DAR and Lodge No. 190 for the donations which made  the program possible again this year.  Special thanks to the Lion Club Leo’s volunteers Stacy Perrez, Cierra Simon and Cierra Espinoza for their hard work with the Program. Thanks also to Leslie Carroll and Becky Dailey for an excellent job with Wiggles and Giggles Group.

Notices were sent out this week to patrons with outstanding fines and over due books.  The fines will be forgiven if the books are returned in good condition. So, if you have been holding on to that book trying to figure out when to return it, now is the time to get it done. The library has been very busy this summer.  We have had 148 volunteer hours, 337 patrons visited the library, 298 computer hours. Fifty-eight books were added to our collections and 11 new patron cards issued.

This will be the last weekend for our Farmers Market.  Be sure to check Facebook for our Calendar of Events each month.

The library will closed July 2-6 for the holiday.  We are located at 212 N. Oak St. Hours are from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday. We look forward to seeing you soon.
