Three Arrested in Anderson County Shooting

PALESTINE – Three Palestine men are in custody following a shooting which left a 27-year-old male in critical but stable condition Wednesday, Aug. 23 in Anderson County on Old Neches Highway (ACR 367).

At 2:28 p.m. Aug 23, the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to the 900 block of ACR 367 in reference to a possible shooting.
“The victim had been shot in the abdomen and was transported to an out-of-area hospital,” an ACSO news release stated. “Working with the information at the scene, deputies along with Pct. 3 Constable Kim Holliday were able to make the arrest of three suspects on ACR 372, which is just a few miles from the shooting scene.”

The three suspects arrested include Leon Mickens, 29, of Palestine, charged with Aggravated Robbery, Kendric Reeves, 24, of Palestine, charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, and Jadarrius Clewis, 17, charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

All three suspects are currently in the Anderson County Jail with bonds of $250,000 each.
“The investigation is still ongoing,” the news release stated.
