Fresh Seafood, Anyone?

CROCKETT – The smell of crawfish etouffee wafting from the small building had more than one motorist craning a neck to get a peek of the origin.
Bobby’s Seafood opened its doors with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Sept. 22. The Shoemake family owns and will manage the restaurant, providing fresh seafood to the Houston County and surrounding area.
These folks know their seafood. On ice behind the glass, crabs, crab claws, king crab legs, alligator meat, halibut, tilapia, catfish, oysters, crawfish, shrimp and more wait for the seafood connoisseur to snap them up for dinner – no bait, no poles, no fuss involved.
More than one passer-by couldn’t resist stopping in to sample the wares at the open house. The restaurant will make good use of the downtown location to tempt shoppers with aromas.
Smell that shrimp boil? According to many in the crowd, including the voice of Crockett’s radio, Louisiana transplants – and native Texans – just got a whole lot happier.
