ETP Announces $90K Donation to CISD for New Bus

 CROCKETT – In a press release from Energy Transfer Partners, L.P. (ETP), received on Oct. 6 it was announced the company had donated funding “… for a new full-sized school bus for students of the Crockett Independent School District (CISD) in Crockett, Texas. The $90,000 bus will join the current fleet of 22 total buses the school district has in operation.”

The press release added, “The donation is a part of ETP’s continued commitment to community investment, particularly through outreach programs like this one in Houston County. ETP recently completed the Alamo Processing Plant, a facility located outside the city of Crockett, which processes 200 million cubic feet per day of natural gas.”

ETP and CISD will co-host the unveiling of the new bus on Tuesday, Oct, 11 at 1:30 p.m. at the Crockett Junior High.

Grant Ruckel, the ETP Vice President for Government Affairs commented, “We are excited to offer the Crockett Independent School District the funds to be able to purchase the new school bus. We are happy to play a role in the expansion of CISD’s bus fleet so they may continue to provide safe and reliable transportation to and from school for their students.”

CISD Superintendent Terry Myers expressed, “We are excited to have Energy Transfer Partners as an educational advocate in our community. This commitment by ETP helps accentuate the inestimable value of Chapter 313 partnerships in the State of Texas. When businesses commit to this kind of support for local school districts, taxpayers and our state benefit. This is an overall win for everyone.”

In addition to the ETP representative and CISD Superintendent, State Sen. Robert Nichols, State Rep. Trent Ashby, Crockett Mayor Robert Meadows and Houston County Judge Erin Ford will also be in attendance at the Oct. 11 event.
