LATEXO – The Latexo Independent School District Board of Trustees met in a special meeting on Monday, May 28 in order to discuss hiring an elementary school principal.

Once the meeting was called to order, the board retired into executive session. Once the board emerged from behind closed doors, a motion was made seconded and approved to extend a contract to Rachel Gallaway to serve as the Latexo Elementary School Principal.

After the meeting had adjourned, LISD Superintendent Michael Woodard commented on the district’s newest administrator.

“We are proud to announce that Rachel Gallaway is our new elementary school principal. Mrs. Gallaway has an extensive background in early childhood curriculum as well as several years of serving as an elementary school principal. She has worn many different hats in her career and will be a huge asset to Latexo ISD. She will fit right in with our students, teachers, and staff in our district,” the superintendent said.
