CAYUGA – The Cayuga Wildcats are looking to bounce back from a disappointing 2017 season which produced a record of 1-9.

Head Coach Cody Mohan does have a lot to work with, however, as he has 10 returning lettermen with 10 starters on offense and nine on defense.

The Wildcats are in District 9-2A DI with: the Centerville Tigers; the Leon Cougars; the Kerens Bobcats; the Cross Roads Bobcats; and the Normangee Panthers.

While it will be a struggle, the Wildcats have a realistic shot at the playoffs. The y will face off against three Bi-District qualifiers in Frost, Hubbard and Mt. Enterprise. They also take on a Regional Semi-Finalist in the Grapeland Sandies and they also play Wortham in non-district competition.

This should help prep Cayuga for the district part of their season. The two teams to watch out for are Centerville and Leon. After that, the final two spots in the postseason are up for grabs with the Wildcats having a pretty decent shot at a return trip to the playoffs.

Players to watch include: Ryder Sparkman; Cody Hearrell; Chase Cooper; Dalton Fitzpatrick; Eli Lust; Robert Buckley; Case Grasch; Matthew Barber; Caden Joyce BJ Scruggs; Haden McBroom; and Charles Shefner.
