CROCKETT – The Kennard Lady Tigers are looking for a strong showing in volleyball season despite a low turnout to start the year.

“I have three returners this year,” Head Volleyball Coach Chris McClain said. “I only have six girls right now. I have some more that will be back. We’re real young, but I think we will be ok.”

The coach said he hopes to make the service game his team’s strength but added his team needs to work on the fundamentals in order for the Lady Tigers to be successful.

The Lady Tigers will compete in District 23-2A along with: the Colmesneil Lady Bulldogs; the Apple Springs Lady Eagles; the Chester Lady Yellow Jackets; the Goodrich Lady Hornets; and the Groveton Lady Indians.

Kennard will compete in this district until the playoffs begin and then the Lady Tigers drop down to Class 1A for the postseason.

“We do have some time to develop,” McClain said.
