Five Month Renovation Process Underway

CROCKETT – In August of 2017, it was announced The Heart Institute of East Texas (HIET) would be locating a facility in Crockett. A month later, a grand opening was held at HIET’s temporary location at 300 Cedar Street, in the old Farm Bureau Building.

Fast forward a year and the healthcare provider is ready to begin the process of relocation to its permanent home at 951 E. Loop 304 in Crockett.

On Friday, Aug. 3 a groundbreaking was held at the new location to celebrate the move.

According to a press release from HIET, “The Heart Institute of East Texas is proud to announce the renovation of the old Contel Building in Crockett. Langston Construction will begin the approximate five-month renovation of the 15,755 square foot building in August.”

Dr. Ravinder Bachireddy – the founder and president of HIET – said the clinic would still be in operation at its current location but hoped to in the new facility within four or five months.

“The structure of the building is excellent, but we will be changing the interior to make it more like a clinic. We will have EKG machines, stress testing, ultrasounds, echocardiography, chest X-rays and all the most important things we can have for heart and vascular patients,” he said.

Bachireddy added some minor procedures would be performed at the new location, but nothing invasive. Nuclear medicine also a strong possibility at the new location but Bachireddy said he wanted the clinic to get up and running first.

“Our main mission is to improve the quality of care with the best state-of-the-art procedures at a relatively low cost,” he said. “We are excited to bring a permanent Heart Institute of East Texas presence to Houston County and look forward to a long relationship serving this community.”
