Derek Thomas Langham

Derek Thomas Langham was born in Fort Worth, TX, on the 2nd day of May, 1970 to Max Dennie Langham and Nancy Thomas Langham, and he passed away on the 11th day of July, 2018, at 48 years of age. He attended the Methodist Church. He spent his life in Houston, TX and attended Aldine Public Schools. He was an avid reader and loved hunting, fishing, and the Dallas Cowboys. One of the highlights of his life was visiting the Football Hall of Fame, conversing with and getting the autograph of Bob Lily, #74 of the Cowboys. Derek was an electrician and was especially close with electrical contractor Louie Themis, who took him under his wing and mentored him. That relationship lasted for life.

Derek was preceded in death by his dad, Max Langham; his grandparents Lem and Annie Mae Langham and Fred and Louise Thomas; special aunt, Sallie Scarborough; and cousin, Randy Scarborough.

Derek is survived by his mother, Nancy Langham and his special cousin, Freida Scarborough. He is also survived by special friends Alice Cates and her daughter, Krystal, as well as many cousins and friends. Derek also leaves behind two precious rescue puppies, Amos Moses and Angie, that were special to him.

Graveside Services for Derek Thomas Langham will be at ten o’clock in the morning on Tuesday, the 17th day of July, 2018 at Grapeland City Cemetery with Rev. Jon Thornsbury officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Derek Thomas Langham’s memory may be directed toward the First United Methodist Church building fund at 715 Highway 287 North, Grapeland, Texas, 75844.
