Mary Marie Williams Shaver
Mary Marie Williams Shaver passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at her home in Grapeland, Texas. She was born March 12, 1941 in Crockett, Texas to parents, Olan Frank Williams and Susie Marie McConnell Williams. She retired as a teacher from Grapeland Independent School District after 34 years of service, two years with Bryan ISD and one at Jacksonville ISD. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church Grapeland and Delta Kappa Gamma, professional educators’ sorority. She was a Sam Houston State Teachers College alumnus.
Mary is survived by her husband of 56 years, Quention Shaver; son, Quention Shaver, Jr. and wife, Kris of Temple; daughters, Kim Turrubiarte and husband, David of Groesbeck and Sandy Hobson of Grapeland; grandchildren, Shaver Huff, Chance Huff and wife, Rachael, Hollie Ruth and husband, Chris, Katie Coulter, Emilie Goad, Charles Turrubiarte, Traetin Turrubiarte, Abby Hobson Blount and husband, Clayton, Bradley Turrubiarte and wife, Jennifer, Trip Hobson; great-grandchildren, Hesston and Kendall Huff, Ryan and Layni Turrubiarte, Cash and Hayes Huff, Krislynn Gabby and Jordyn Ruth; sister, Lyndol Wilkinson and husband, Leroy; nephew, Chris Wilkinson; nieces, Kelley and Parker Wilkinson; aunt, Frankie Mae Williams Sizemore; numerous cousins, professional associates, precious ex-students loving each and every one of them, always cherishing their memories. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Susie and Olan Williams; sister, Gwyndol Williams; nephew, Kenny Wilkinson.
Funeral services were held for Mary Marie Williams Shaver at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 7, 2018 at the First Baptist Church, Grapeland. Interment followed in the Pennington Cemetery in Pennington. Family received friends for visitation Friday, July 6, 2018 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.at the Callaway-Allee Funeral Home.
