James Stephen “Jimmy” Currie

Jimmy is survived by wife, Debra Currie of Grapeland; brother, Button Currie and wife, Liz of Crockett; mother-in-law, Mattie Lou Richardson of Crockett; father-in-law, Ross Richardson and wife, Jean of Latexo; sisters-in-law, Sondra Davis of Kennard, Sandra Johnston and husband, Ralph of Rusk, Arlene Benge and husband, Eric of Arkansas, Kelly Kellum and Judd Pyle of Belott, Jo Neen Richardson of Crockett; brother-in-law, Ross Richardson, Jr. and wife, Ann of Galveston; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by daughter, Stephanie Ann Currie; parents, Charles and Mary Lawson Currie; brother-in-law, Rodney Richardson; niece, Ashley Rene Benge.

Funeral services for James Stephen “Jimmy” Currie were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, 2018 in the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Herrington and Bro. Randy Hargrove officiating. Interment followed in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery. Family received friends Monday afternoon from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Callaway-Allee Funeral Home and also from 11:30 a.m. until 2:00 Tuesday prior to service.
