Hayden A. Kolb

Hayden A. Kolb passed away Saturday April 28th, 2018 at his home in Missouri City, TX. Hayden was born in Grapeland to James Henry Kolb and Lennie Bean on Oct 7th, 1922. He was the youngest of nine children. At age 95 he has followed his wife, his parents, and all 8 siblings to heaven.

Hayden graduated from Grapeland High School. He enlisted in the Army during WWII. He obtained the rank of Provost Sgt and was honorably discharged. After serving his country, he returned to Grapeland and married Neva Joyce Steadman, also from Grapeland, and they remain together until her death September the 3rd, 2017.

After they married, they moved to Houston, TX where he went to work for Folgers Coffee and retired after 25 years. He then went to work for American Rice and retired from there after 20 years as an inspector.

Hayden and Neva had one child, Dale Kevin Kolb. Dale and his wife Rita live in Missouri City, TX. Hayden and Neva were blessed with two grandchildren Kristen Rainey and Jonathan Kolb and 3 great grandchildren.

Most of his life centered around work and church and family. With Neva being church musician and Hayden being church deacon his life was full.

In 2010, they moved from Houston to Missouri City in a new home built next door to Dale, his only

son, where he remained till Saturday the 28th.

Hayden Kolb was a wonderful father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was dependable, solid and secure. He was always there for family and friends. He was faithful to God. Both Hayden and

Neva were very secure in what was ahead for them after death. They knew that their lives belonged to Jesus and that they would celebrate eternal Life with our Lord.

There will be a viewing at Heights Funeral Home on Thursday the 3rd of May, located at 1317 Heights

Blvd, Houston TX 77008, from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. Hayden will be laid to rest in Parker Cemetery just north of Grapeland on Friday the 4th at 1 p.m. There he will join Neva and most of his siblings and his parents.
