Robert L. (Bob) Scoggin

Graveside services for Robert L. (Bob) Scoggin, 91, of Whitehouse, were at Muse Cemetery on April 3, 2018, with Rev. Ron Moore officiating. Bob was born July 12, 1926 in Houston County to Robert L. Scoggin, Sr. and Alma Lee Tyer. He attended schools in Waneta community and Latexo.  He served in the Marine Corps during WWII from December 1944 to August 1946. He and Hazel Sutton were married January 12, 1947. After working for a furniture store for a few years in Lufkin, Texas, he opened his own store in Diboll. Also during the next 40 years he had stores at various times in Lufkin, Corrigan, Grapeland, Crockett, Palestine and Rusk as well as having a ranching operation in Houston County.

Bob was pre-deceased by his parents, sisters Evelyn Lane, Ruby Lee Clark, Faye Scoggin and Dimple Scoggin. Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Hazel, daughters Rosemary Reynolds and Linda Scoggin, grandson Matthew Reynolds, brother Jerry Scoggin and sister Carolyn Ledbetter. Also several nieces, nephews and cousins.
