Virgil Sidney Cook

Virgil Sidney Cook, age 76, of Crockett passed away Monday, March 12, 2018 in Lufkin.  He was born December 9, 1941 in Crockett to parents, David Clinton Cook and Evie Boswell Cook.  Virgil served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and worked in the heating and air conditioning industry.  He is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Bettie Cook of Porter Springs; daughter, Tammy Horlacher and husband, Greg of Denver; granddaughters, Jill Horlacher and Cat Horlacher of Denver; sisters, Diamond Kornegay of Huntsville, Susie Wall and husband, R.A. of Lufkin; brother, Wayland Cook and wife, Pat of Houston; numerous other loving relatives and friends.

 He was preceded in death by his son, James David Cook; parents, David Clinton Cook and Evie Cook; brothers, Richard Donald Cook, Pete Cook, Leroy Cook, David Cook, Charles Q. Cook, Gordon Cook, Coleman Cook and Glen Cook.

Graveside services for Virgil Sidney Cook was held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 15, 2018 in the Porter Springs Cemetery.  Online condolences may be made at www.callawayallee.com
