Genesis 28 – “Jacob Sent Away”

By Wes Woodard

Isaac and Rebekah sent Jacob away to Rebekah’s brother Laban for two reasons: to escape from Esau (who desired to kill him), and to find a wife who was not a Canaanite.  Before Jacob leaves, Isaac blesses him again and says, in verse three, “May God bless you and make you fruitful and multiply you. May He also give you the blessing of Abraham and your descendants… that you possess the land of your sojourning which God gave to Abraham.”  This promise of the land of Palestine did not become a reality until 1948!  And, our Embassy will relocate to Jerusalem within a year! This is amazing.
