Information obtained from the Houston County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) indicated deputies were dispatched to a residence on CR 2120 on Feb. 20 at approximately 1:40 p.m. in reference to a possible burglary in progress.

“While enroute to the residence, deputies were notified that four males had left the residence is a silver car with no hubcaps, headed toward Crockett,” an affidavit of probable cause stated.

As the HCSO deputies travelled north on U.S. Hwy. 287, they observed a vehicle matching the description of the suspected vehicle travelling south towards Crockett.

The law enforcement officials then initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle. After they made contact with the vehicles occupants, Horace, Sr. stated, “We haven’t done anything wrong. We just stopped at that house to check on a go-cart that was in the front yard.”

Once it was confirmed the four men were at the CR 2120 residence, HCSO deputies learned that Horace, Sr. and Horace, Jr. had warrants for their arrests out of Madison County.

The father and son were detained and placed under arrest for their outstanding warrants. Marshall and Wooten were also detained and transported to the Houston County Justice Center while the go-cart alibi was investigated.
