Genesis 27 – “Esau Lies About Jacob”

In this chapter God’s word to Rebekah is fulfilled. God had told her that two nations were in her womb, and the older would serve the younger. The Scripture also said that Isaac loved Esau, but Rebekah loved Jacob. This is the way it should have been because Esau had sold his birthright for a bowl of soup! (He felt the birthright was worthless, and he never changed his mind about selling it to Jacob. In verse 3 he lies about Jacob, “… he has supplanted me these two times. He took away my birthright and now he has taken away my blessing. These are lies! This is a total falsehood!  To prove his true character Esau took not only a Hittite wife, but also a daughter of Ishmael as a wife! It is obvious that he does not wish his children to be connected with Abraham!

We are thankful that our new federal administration is favorable to Israel. This is the only way we will be blessed by God.
