Ramona McConnell Smith

Ramona McConnell Smith, age 89, of Missouri City, TX passed away February 14, 2018 at her residence. 

Ramona was born October 18, 1928, the fourth child born to John William and Blanche Crenshaw McConnell, owners of McConnell’s Store in Crockett.

She was married to Harold (Hoot) Smith until his death in 1976. 

Ramona is survived by daughter, Anne Smith Schrader of Fayetteville, Arkansas; son, Johnnie Madison Smith of Houston; grandchildren, Taylor Marie Smith of Houston, Justin Tyler Smith of Houston; brother, Jim McLean McConnell of Missouri City; numerous nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by husband, Harold “Hoot” Smith; sisters, Anne McConnell Marsh and Patsy McConnell Reynen; brothers, William Van McConnell and John William McConnell ; nephew, Richard Paul Chapman.

Funeral services for Ramona McConnell Smith will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 18, 2018 in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with Dr. Reggie Gregory officiating. 

Interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Park.  Family will receive friends for visitation at noon prior to service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Crockett Public Library, 708 East Goliad, Crockett, TX   75835.
