Martha L. Walters

Martha L. Walters, age 74, of Pearsons Chapel passed away Sunday, January 28, 2018 at her home. Martha was born November 22, 1943 in Meridan, Mississippi to parents, James and Christine Walker. She was a member of the Society of Black Rose, Madison Rose Chapter serving as chaplain and also a member of the Auxiliary of Confederate of States, Order of the Confederate States. Martha was a loving wife, mother, homemaker and loved singing, crafts especially loving everything Elvis and her cats. She was a longtime member of the Pearsons Chapel Baptist Church.

Martha is survived by husband, Steve Walters of Pearsons Chapel; daughter, Tina Adams and husband, Kyle of Huntsville; sisters, Juanita Walker Jones of Mississippi, Michele Myrescough and husband, Paul of Illinois; brother, Jimmy Walker of Mississippi; step-mother, Mary A. Walker of Lerna, Illinois; nieces, LaDonda Castle of Mississippi, Graceie Myerscough of Illinois; nephews, David Castle and wife, Rachael of Mississippi, Geremy Jones and wife, Allison of Mississippi, Spencer Myerscough of Illinois, Tyler Myerscough of Illinois; two great-nieces; five great-nephews; one great-great-niece; one great-great-nephew. She was preceded in death by son, Stephen Wayne Walters; parents, James and Christine Walker; brothers, Harry A. Walker and James Walker.

Funeral services for Martha L. Walters were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 31, 2018 in the Pearsons Chapel Baptist Church with Bro. Jim Bob Gunnels officiating. Interment followed in the Creek Cemetery. Family received friends for visitation Wednesday at 10 a.m. prior to service.
