Barbara Jo Manning Muckleroy

Barbara Jo Manning Muckleroy, age 82, of Crockett passed away Saturday, January 6, 2018 in the Winfield Nursing Center. Barbara was born October 23, 1935 in Crockett to parents, Graydon Son Manning and Lena Hart Manning. She and her husband, E. L. lived in Pasadena for many years before retiring back home in Crockett.

Barbara was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Crockett and Pasadena Chapters and spent many hours as a volunteer with Share and the Houston County Medical Hospital. She was a 35-year member of the First United Methodist Church in Pasadena and currently a member of the Latexo Methodist Church.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 65 years, Edward L. Muckleroy of Crockett; children, Brenda Myers and husband, Van of Pasadena, Steve Muckleroy and wife, Jan of The Woodlands, D’Ann Spiller and husband, Gene of Pasadena; grandchildren, Adrien Moore and husband, Dave of Pasadena, Matthew Muckleroy of Dallas, Sarah Muckleroy of Austin, Jared Gardner and wife, Jessica of Deer Park; great-grandchildren, Parker Myers and Ava Moore; brother, Harvey Manning and wife, Martha of Cypress; numerous other loving relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by parents, Son and Lena Manning; sister, Edwina Minter; brother, G. L. Manning.

Funeral services for Barbara Jo Manning Muckleroy were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 9, 2018 in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with Rev. Richard Gillet and Rev. Joanne Elliott officiating. Interment followed in the Latexo Cemetery. Family received friends for visitation Monday evening from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
