Mary Alice Lindemann Johns

Mary Alice Lindemann Johns passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 in Longview, surround by family.  She was born in Dallas on February 6, 1943 to Albert G. Lindemann, Sr. and Adalee Elizabeth Baumgartner Lindemann.  Mary was a member of the last graduating class of St. Edward Academy and a graduate of Texas Woman’s University with a Master’s in Clothing and Textiles.  Mary served for many years on the Apple Springs ISD school board and was instrumental in starting youth baseball in Apple Springs/Centerville.  She later attended Stephen. F. Austin State University for her teaching certificate, and was a long-time educator in Hudson and Lovelady ISDs.  Mary was a member of the St. Francis of the Tejas parish in Crockett, where she was in the choir and Ladies’ Guild, among her many church and community activities.

She is survived and fondly remembered by her daughter Becky, sons Tim, Danny, and David and foster son Steve; son-in-law and daughters-in-law, John, Katie, and Jenny; grandchildren Charlotte, Meredith, Amy, Walker, Olivia, Darcie, Abby, Andy, and Bennett; sisters Jane Beck and husband, Joe and Agnes Plutino; numerous nieces and nephews, Mr. Kitty, and many friends from her childhood and throughout East Texas.   She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Albert, and sisters, Ann and Martha.

The funeral Mass was held at St. Francis of the Tejas on Saturday, November 18, 2017, with internment at Calvary Hill Cemetery in Dallas at a later date.
