HCHD Provides Hospital Update

Letter of Intent Expected Next Week

HOUSTON COUNTY – The Houston County Hospital District (HCHD) Board of Directors met for the second time in two days on Tuesday evening, Nov. 21 and provided a brief update on the status of the hospital.

After the approval of minutes from several previous meetings and the approval of the HCHD financial report for the month of October, Board President Deborah Porth Blackwell provided those in attendance with an update on the progress of negotiations with Crockett Healthcare Partnership.

“I had hoped to have a possible presentation from Crockett Healthcare Partnership, but because they are a business, they had scheduled surgeries today. We are going to try and get them in for our December meeting,” Blackwell said.

She added because of the approaching holiday season, the December meeting would be held a week earlier than normal and was scheduled for Dec. 12.

“We are continuing in our negotiations with Crockett Healthcare Partnership and we hope to have a letter of intent signed by – hopefully – tomorrow (Nov. 22). To be realistic about it, it will probably be the first part of next week,” Blackwell added.
