Mildred Moore Ivie

Mildred Moore Ivie, age 97, of Liberty Hill passed away Saturday, November 4, 2017 in the Winfield Nursing Center. Mildred was born August 8, 1920 in Liberty Hill to parents, Johnny Edgar Moore and Carrie Kellum Moore. She worked for many years as custodian at Crockett High School. Mildred was also a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star and also a member of the VFW Ladies’ Auxiliary.

Mildred is survived by son, J. E. Ivie and wife, Sharron of Liberty Hill; grandchildren, Debra Landrum of Alto, Teresa Crosby and husband, Larry of Alto, Elana Goolsby of Grapeland, Janice Hollis and husband, Wayne of Grapeland, Patricia Pyeatt of Grapeland, Charles Cooper and wife, Tamara of Normangee, Kathy Commander and husband, Scott of Crockett, Randy Womack of Crockett, Tina Burford of Pflugerville, Michelle Ivie of Grapeland, Kristy Ivie of New Diana; seventeen great-grandchildren; twenty-three great-great-grandchildren; sister, Lena Gilmore of Houston; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by husband, Curtis Ivie; daughters, Laverne Johnson, Jean Cooper; great-grandson, Eric Pyeatt; parents, Johnny and Carrie Moore; brother, Edgar Moore; sister, Jewel McGaughey.

Funeral services for Mildred Moore Ivie were held Monday, November 6, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with Rev. Randy Shipman officiating. Interment followed in the Weches Cemetery. Family received friends for visitation Monday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children.
