Frankie Mae Thomas

Frankie Mae Thomas, 68, of Grapeland, TX, was born October 18, 1948 to Frank Sr. and Mary Wilmore. She was the baby girl of six siblings. She was a very savvy business woman who attended Prairie View A & M University and was the owner of Thomas Bookkeeping Service located in Grapeland TX. She could tabulate figures in a blink of an eye, and knew the adding machine like it was part of her soul.

Frankie loved serving her community and helping people. She was full of life, with her strong but yet soft and sweet voice. She was always thinking of and loving others, and placing their needs    before her own. She was a very caring person who loved her  family dearly, and always enjoyed family times shared together. She was close to her five (5) brothers, and shared a special bond with Isabella (Nancy), her only sister.

She was married to Gene Leroy Thomas for 43 years, and to this union three beautiful children were born.

Frankie transitioned peacefully at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler, TX, October 14, 2017.

She is preceded in death by both parents: Frank Wilmore, Sr., and Mary B. Wilmore, daughter Cheryl Thomas, and brothers Frank Wilmore, Jr., L.B. Wilmore, Walter L. Wilmore, Vernon C. Wilmore, and Arnold B. Wilmore.

Left to cherish her loving spirit is husband Gene Leroy Thomas, Grapeland, TX, sons Michael Thomas (DeVonne) of McKinney, TX, and Kenneth Thomas (Tayna) of Crockett, TX, sister Isabella Walker (Reverend George A. Walker), Houston, TX, eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, whom she loved dearly; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousin and friends. She will be truly missed but can now rest with her heavenly Father.

Services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Rising Star Baptist Church, Lawrence Brown, Pastor. Delbert Simpson will be the Eulogist. Officiant will be Rev. George Walker.
