Albert J. Harris, age 80, of Crockett passed away Thursday, October 19, 2017 at his residence.  Albert was born June 26, 1937 in Crockett to parents, Moses L. Harris, Sr. and Lottie Bernice Moseley Harris.  He served his country in the United States Navy.  Brother Albert was a minister and retired from the Texas Department of Transportation.  He was a member of the Friday Baptist Church.

Albert is survived by wife of 59 years, Helen Jones Harris of Crockett; children, Mary White and husband, Johnny of Crockett; Danny Harris and wife, Cecilia of North Zulch, Sandra Haynes and husband, Steve of Crockett, Steven Harris and wife, Charlotte of Hudson, twelve grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; sister, Martha Cantrell of Sugar Land; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.  He was preceded in death by parents, M. L. and Bernice Harris; brother, M. L. Harris, Jr.; sister, Lottie Lenager; great-grandson, Chase Baker.

Funeral services for Albert J. Harris were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 21, 2017 in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with Brother Mardy Guidry and Rev. Steve Meadows officiating.

Interment followed in the Weches Cemetery.  Family received friends Friday evening from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
