Betty Jean Shaver
Betty Jean Shaver, age 88, of Crockett, passed away Saturday, September 17, 2017 in the Winfield Nursing Center. Betty was born September 2, 1929 in Percilla to parents, Ellis Wilcox and Nannie Sullivan Wilcox. She was a graduate of Sam Houston State University with a degree in education. Betty was a longtime teacher in Orange Grove and Grapeland and was a member of the Percilla First United Methodist Church.
Betty is survived by sister-in-law, Jeanne Frye of Crockett; brother-in-law, W.E. “Bill” Shaver and wife, Irene of Clear Lake, Sam Shaver and wife, Frances of Kingwood; several loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by husband, Earl Shaver in 2008; parents, Ellis and Nan Wilcox.
Funeral services for Betty Jean Shaver will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 21, 2017 in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with Chaplain Marty Ballesteros officiating. Interment will follow in the New Energy Cemetery. Online condolences may be left at www.callawayallee.com
