Robert Eugene Kimble

Robert Eugene Kimble, age 83, passed away August 2, 2017 at Houston Methodist Hospital following a lengthy illness. Born November 29, 1933 in Steubenville, Ohio to Lloyd and Mary (Campbell) Kimble. Mr. Kimble earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from The Ohio State University, and remained an avid Buckeye fan for life. He retired from British Petroleum as the U.S. Terminals and Distribution Director. His greatest passions were his family, travel and above all sailing. He was a member of Houston Yacht Club and sailed the East Coast of the U.S. to Texas, and throughout the Caribbean and Bahamas. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Crockett, Broken Sound Club, Boca Raton, FL, and a past member of the Crockett Lions Club.

Mr. Kimble is survived by his wife, Charlotte Harrison Kimble of Crockett, Texas, and his children, Deborah A. (Thomas) Kegelmeyer of Columbus, Ohio and Scott A. (Elizabeth) Kimble of East Lyme, Conn. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Sheila (McConnell) Kimble and daughter, M. Susan Spangler. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife and children, stepchildren, Katharine (Michael) Baker of Hinckley, Ohio; Karen (James Duddey) Atkinson of Miami, FL; Kimberly (Craig) Van Pelt of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Stephen Kimble, Jennifer Kimble, Jessica Kimble, Alex (Ellyn) Kegelmeyer, Brian Kegelmeyer, Jared Spangler, Erin Spangler, Sarah Baker, Jack Baker, Eloise Van Pelt, Daphne Van Pelt and greatgrandchild, Serenity Brielle Simmons.

A private memorial service will take place in Annapolis, MD on August 26, 2017. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Boy Scouts of America or the Leukemia Lymphoma Society. Online condolences may be made at www.callawayallee.com
