CDBC Gearing Up for July 4

CROCKETT – The Crockett Downtown Beautification Corporation (CDBC) is gearing up for their annual Fourth of July parade and festivities.

The CDBC would like to invite the community to come celebrate the Fourth of July on Tuesday, July 4 at 10 a.m. on the Crockett square.

Individuals wanting to participate in the homemade ice cream and fruit pie contest need to have their items checked in by 8:30 a.m., in front of the Moosehead Café’, located on the Crockett square at 412 E. Houston Avenue.  Ice cream contestants are asked to pack their entry in ice and to please put their name on all entries.

Children wanting to participate in the bike decorating contest need to meet at the Crockett Bank Drive- thru on East Houston Ave. at 9:30 a.m.

Float participants need to meet at the First Baptist Church on 801 E. Goliad Ave. at 9:15 a.m.

The theme of the parade this year is “America United Forever”. The parade starts at 10:00 a.m.

First, second and third place winners of the pie/ice cream, bike decorating and floats contest will be announced on the east side of the courthouse after the parade.

There will also be a concession stand with hotdogs and cold drinks.  The CDBC looks forward to seeing everyone on July 4!
