EAST TEXAS – Following the conclusion of the 2017 UIL State Softball Tournament, the 2017 18-AAAA All-District Team was released with the post season accolades showing a strong presence from the Palestine Lady Cats.

Athens Lady Hornet Sam Smith was selected as the District’s Most Valuable Player.

The Offensive MVP was Fairfield Lady Eagle Meghan Peterson.

The Defensive MVP was Athens Lady Hornet Kelli Gartman.

Freshman Ka’zem Wood from the Palestine Lady Cats along with Fairfield Lady Eagle Rebecca Dunlap were selected as the District 18-AAAA Co-Newcomers of the Year.

The MVP in the pitcher’s circle was Athens Lady Hornet Kristin House.

The Co-Coaches of the Year were the Palestine Lady Cats’ Coach Kym Chapa and Mexia Lady Black Cats’ Coach Keith Vest.

The First Team All-District catcher was Banner Monico from the Fairfield Lady Eagles.

The First Team All-District designated player was Infinity Morrow from the Palestine Lady Cats.

The First Team All-District infielders were: Lauran Adcock from the Fairfield Lady Eagles; Delilah Dodson from the Madisonville Lady Mustangs; Priscilla Garcia from the Mexia Lady Black Cats; Tyler Greene from the Athens Lady Hornets; and Gentry Renfro from the Mexia Lady Black Cats.

The First Team All-District outfielders were: Gabby Jacobs – Mexia; Margo Measles – Fairfield; Lindzey Roberts – Athens; and Kandace Smith – Madisonville

The First Team All-District pitcher was Abby Garcia from the Fairfield lady Eagles.

The First Team All-District utility player was Madilynn Capperton from the Madisonville Lady Mustangs.

The Second Team All-District catchers were Angel Carroll from Mexia and Averie Sims from Madisonville.

The Second Team All-District designated players was Palestine Lady Cat Fazaria Edwards.

The Second Team All-District infielders were: Jennifer Bradford – Athens; Brooke Gatlin – Madisonville; Tashundra Reeves – Mexia; and Jai Surgiff – Madisonville.

The Second Team All-District outfielders were: Ashton Langley – Mexia; Kianna Martin – Mexia; Claire Partain – Fairfield; Rhainy Williams – Madisonville.

The Second Team All-District pitcher was Erica Beldin from the Mexia Lady Black Cats.

The Second Team All-District utility player was Alicia Grogan from the Athens Lady Hornets.
