Harold Thomas, age 81, of Crockett passed away Monday, May 1, 2017 at his residence. He was born September 15, 1935 in Doddridge, AR to parents, Clarence and Dovie Plum Thomas. Harold worked for many years as a supervisor for the Brewer Construction Company and retired from the City of Crockett as Public Works Director. He served as the Crockett Volunteer Fire Department Fire Chief and Interim Fire Marshall. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Crockett.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Bettye Brewer Thomas of Crockett; son and daughter-in-law, David  and Crystal Thomas of Lufkin; grandsons, Garrett Thomas of Lufkin and Garrison Thomas of Lufkin; sisters, Marie Thomas of Barnsdall, OK and Martha Crabtree of Doddridge, AR; numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.

He was preceded in death by his son, Harold Wayne Thomas; brothers, C.W. Thomas, Winston Thomas, and Bill Thomas; and sisters, Jamie Thomas and Mamie Thomas.

Funeral services for Harold Thomas was held Thursday, May 4, 2017 at 2 p.m. in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with Rev. Larry Womack officiating. Interment followed in the Evergreen Memorial Park. The family received friends Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Callaway-Allee Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Crockett Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 525, Crockett, Texas 75835.
