Doris Jeanette Kyle

Doris Jeanette Kyle, 83, of Crockett passed away Saturday, April 1, 2017 in Winfield Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 12, 1933 in Houston County to John Edward Crowson and Mattie Lou Miller Crowson.

Jeanette was a phenomenal mother and friend. When she was living in Dallas, Jeanette was a semi-pro volleyball player; a member of a bowling league for many years; belonged to the Garden Club; was a cosmetic rep for Vivian Woodward; and also worked as a nurse technician for a pediatrician.

After moving back to Crockett, she worked for Justice of the Peace Leon Bennett and the K.O.A. at Houston County Lake

Jeanette is survived by children, Jody Skinner and husband, Shaw of Ft. Collins, CO, Jackie Hatchel and husband, Mark of Arlington, Donnie Kyle and wife, Suzette of Magnolia; grandchildren, Whitney Pickett and husband, Scott of Tallahassee, FL, Matthew Skinner and wife, Kenley of Ft. Collins, CO, Lana Kennedy and husband, Jared of Aledo, Wes Harper and wife, Whitney of Bulverde, Ashley Kyle of College Station; great-grandchildren, Nathaniel Pickett, Gus Kennedy, Bridget Kennedy, Joe Kennedy, Harper Hatchel; sisters, Martha Bartee and husband, Vernon of Cypress, Brenda Ball of Crockett; longtime friend, Beverly Hollis; numerous other loving relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her son, John Kenneth Kyle; parents, Ed and Mattie Crowson; brother, Kenneth Ray Crowson; and sister, Mary Barnes.

Funeral service for Doris Jeanette Kyle will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 8, 2017 at the First United Methodist Church of Lovelady.

The family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Friday at Callaway-Allee Funeral Home with Rev. Max Nichter officiating.
