Houston County Man Arrested for Indecency with a Child

HOUSTON COUNTY – An outcry from a 10-year-old child led to the arrest of a Houston County man on charges of indecency with a child by contact.

Ricky James Majeski, 52, was arrested on Thursday, March 2 and charged with the offense after he allegedly touched the victim in an inappropriate manner on Feb. 25.

According to an affidavit of probable cause, “The 10-year-old child victim in this case and her family were at the defendant’s house located in Houston County. While at the defendant’s house, the child victim reported that the defendant called her to him and started to rub her butt, raised her shirt up and kissed her on her breast. It was reported that the defendant was intoxicated.”

The probable cause document further stated later that same day, “… the defendant was on top of the child victim and asked her if she wanted to have sex and asked her if she wanted to be the most spoiled child. The child’s mother walked into the room at which time the defendant got up from the child victim.”

The victim then told her mother and stepfather she was scared and wanted to go home, the affidavit reported. The victim also informed her parents what the defendant had done and according to the affidavit, “The child victim has been consistent in her statement to everyone she has talked to.”

Majeski was booked into custody on March 2 and charged with one count of indecency with a child by contact, a second degree felony.

According to Section 12.33 of the Texas Penal Code, “An individual adjudged guilty of a felony of the second degree shall be punished by imprisonment in the institutional division for any term of not more than 20 years or less than two years. In addition to imprisonment, an individual adjudged guilty of a felony of the second degree may be punished by a fine not to exceed $10,000.”

Majeski is being held at the Houston County Jail on a bond of $30,000.
