WEEKLY BIBLE COMMENTARY by Wes Woodard 2-26

The Apostle Paul’s third major point in the Book of Romans is that mankind is saved or justified before God by faith alone in God’s Son.  Faith means to trust what Jesus did to be sufficient payment for all of our sins.

Paul says, “Therefore having been justified by faith we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ…” (Romans 5:1) The reason I can go to bed each night and sleep peacefully is because I have been declared righteous or justified by God.  I have peace with Him and He is at peace with me.

If you do not have this peace then God offers it to you freely. Just say, “Jesus, I do not understand it all, but I know I am a sinner and I want to have peace with you. Therefore, I am accepting your Son as my Savior.”
