Mary Lois Cheairs Patrick
Mary Lois Cheairs Patrick, 86, of Dodge, Texas, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on February 3, 2017.
She was born on July 23, 1930 in the Ash Community of Austonio to Jessie Lee and Florence Crofford Cheairs. She graduated from Austonio High School in 1948 where she was a star volleyball player and class president.
After high school she married Woodrow Patrick and started raising her family. She remained a housewife, only taking out small increments of time to work outside of the home. She worked as a bookkeeper, houseparent at the Crockett State School and was the nurse’s assistant at Crockett Intermediate School when she retired.
Mary Lois was a devoted Christian woman, wife and mother. She is best known for her sweet, kind and caring spirit, and for always putting her Lord and others first.
Mary Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie Lee Cheairs and Florence Crofford Cheairs, husband, Walter Woodrow Patrick, son, Walter Keith Patrick, sisters, Edith Christian and Evelyn Dorman. Survivors include son, Johnny Lee Patrick and wife, Peggy of Crockett, TX; daughter, Cheryl Lawrence and husband, Don of Dodge, TX; granddaughter, Julie Foshee of Huntsville; great-grandson, Rhett Lee Foshee; step-granddaughter, Julie Martin and husband Marshall of Latexo; and step-great-grandson, Jace Martin.

The service was held at 10 a.m. Monday, February 6, 2017 at Callaway Allee Memorial Chapel. Visitation was held at 9 a.m. Monday, February 6, 2017 at Callaway-Allee Funeral Home. Harvey Bruner, Jerome Jansky, Terry Long, Don Manning, Dallas Smalley, and Jack Vickers served as pallbearers. Interment followed at Porter Springs Cemetery.
