Jean Jeffus Adams

Jean Jeffus Adams, age 92, of Dripping Springs, Texas passed away January 12, 2017 at South Austin Medical Center in Austin, Texas.   Jean was born on November 14, 1924, in Kennard, in Houston County, to Rev. Lemuel F. and Lettie Mae Bagwell Jeffus.

She married Karl Dean Adams on June 13, 1942 and they were together for almost 55 years until his death on April 13, 1997.  She lived for many years in Brazoria and Angleton, Texas before moving to San Marcos in 2001.

More recently she had moved to Dripping Springs to be near her daughter. Jean was a happy and busy lady who lived on her own until several weeks ago when she became ill with pneumonia.

Jean is survived by her son, Kerry Adams and wife Peggy; daughter, Bonnie Eissler and husband Vic; grandchildren, Keli and husband Eric Williams, Kyle Adams and wife Holly, Allie and husband Travis.  She is also survived by great grandchildren, London Williams, Kenley Adams and Kade Adams; and sisters-in-law, Sally Jeffus Secrest and Daisy Jeffus.  Mrs. Adams also leaves behind much loved nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sisters, Virginia Johnson, Frankie Mae Atkinson, Locie Wright and Billie Nell Jeffus; brothers, Dan Jeffus, Finon Jeffus, Gleason Jeffus, Ira Jeffus, Herman “Cotton” Jeffus, and David Jeffus.

Funeral services for Jean Jeffus Adams will be at Rhone Funeral Home Memorial Chapel at 1 p.m. on January 19, 2017.  Interment will follow at Antioch Cemetery in Lovelady, Texas.
