Peggy Camille Baker

Peggy Camille Baker was born in Richland, Texas on June 23, 1933 and went to be with the Lord on January 7, 2017.

Peggy was raised in the East Texas Oilfield at Turnertown by her mother Bonnie Moore Holland and her father Cherry Holland. She came to know the Lord as a child in Turnertown. She graduated from Gaston High School and attended Tyler Jr. College and was part of the Apache Belles, then went on to graduate from the University of Texas in Austin. Peggy had a busy career as a secretary, but her most important role was that of a Mother.

She married Hulon David Baker from Grapeland in 1959, They had three children Cheryl Pillans of Winkler, Mari Anne Corker of Dallas, and David Layne Baker of San Antonio.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her daughter Mari Anne. She is survived by her daughter Cheryl and husband Benny, her son David Layne and wife Shannon, five grandchildren, Cherrilyn Robertson, Robby Pillans, Sinclair Corker, Olivia Corker, and Keelin Baker, six great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Huff, Sandra Wilson, Sereta Platt, and brother-in-law, Donald Baker and wife Virgie.

Her services will be held Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. in the Bailey & Foster Funeral Chapel in Grapeland with graveside to follow in Parker Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 prior to service.
