Deborah Kay Matlock

Deborah Kay Matlock, age 69, of Groveton passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2016 in Crockett.

She was born March 31, 1947 in Lufkin to parents, Kelly Michael Bennett and Reba Brazil Bennett.  Deborah was an Equine Sports Therapist and loved her horses, family and friends.

She is survived by her significant other, Jerry “Pete” Pruitt of Groveton; children, Stacy Lucas and husband, James of Crockett, Charles “Bubba” Matlock and wife, Erika of Weatherford, Amanda Matlock and Bo Smith of Diboll; step-children, Jerry Pruitt of Groveton, Tawnya Pruitt of Groveton; fifteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and brother, Michael Bennett and wife, Sandra of Lufkin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Kelly and Reba Bennett; and brother, Phillip Bennett.

Memorial services for Deborah Kay Matlock will be held Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that everyone bring new teddy bears to be donated to the Cook’s Children Hospital in Dallas.
