Robert L. Corley

Robert L. Corley, age 87, of Kennard passed away November 15, 2016 at his residence.  He was born November 24, 1928 in Cushing, Texas to parents, Robert Earl and Earnest Juanita Cook Corley.  He bravely served in the U.S. Navy, was a deacon of the Plain Baptist Church, a member of the Cade-Rothwell Lodge #1151 AF&AM and a Boy Scout Troop Leader.  He retired after 42 years from Southern Pacific Railroad.

He is survived by his son, Robert Corley and wife, Beth of Katy; grandchildren, Ricky Ashmore and wife, Jessica of Montgomery County, Leanne Deeton and husband, Charles of Houston, Jason Ashmore of Houston, Matthew Barrier of Katy, Christina Avila and husband, Rodolfo of Katy, and Rebecca Mudd and husband, Chad of Tom Bean; great-grandchildren, Desirae, Devin, Chloe, Lucas, Oliva, Maddie, and Tenley; special friends, Beth Guynes of Kennard, Jeanette and Lee Beard of Grapeland, Joseph and Sawyer Beard of Grapeland; numerous other loving relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Corley; son, Richard Lee Ashmore; parents, Robert and Juanita Corley; and sisters, Myra Davis, Nelva Scott and Dagma Hughes.

Funeral services for Robert L. Corley will be held Friday, November 18, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel.  Interment to follow in the Earthman Resthaven Cemetery of Houston at 3:30 p.m. The family will receive friends for visitation Friday morning prior to service.
