Denise Platt Ynguanzo

Denise Platt Ynguanzo of Crockett, Texas passed away at her home at the age of 56 on October 20, 2016 after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. Denise was born in Crockett on December 10, 1959 to Bill and Carolyn Platt. She graduated from Crockett High School in 1978. She married, Alex Ynguanzo, in 1984. They lived in all parts of Texas, north, south east and west. They started their family in Lubbock, when their oldest daughter, Cassondra, was born in 1986. After moving to Corpus Christi they welcomed their second daughter, Cara. They settled down in Arlington, Texas where they raised both their daughters. While in Arlington, they were members of the St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church Parish, where their daughters attended school. She never missed an opportunity to support her daughters. You could expect to see Denise on the sideline of a soccer field or baseball field or sitting front row at a dance recital. Her daughters were members of their high school drill team. Denise supported them as President of the booster club and never missed a Friday night performance.

Everywhere she went she was an active member of the community. She served as President of both the Kiwaniannes and her local professional association. For 20 years she worked in sales and client services for healthcare accounting. Denise loved spending time with clients and colleagues. After raising their daughters in Arlington, they moved to Crockett in 2007 due to Denise’s health issues. Denise and Alex joined the St. Francis Catholic Church when the moved to Crockett. Denise spent time traveling back and forth to Forth Worth to spend time with her grandchildren. She loved bringing her grandsons back to Crockett with her and spending time spoiling them!

Denise had a contagious laugh and smile that will be missed by all. She was selfless in all that she did. She gave her all to her family and friends. Denise leaves behind her husband, Alex Ynguanzo of Crockett; two daughters, Cassondra and husband, Enos Thornburg, and Cara and husband, Casey Clerihew all of Forth Worth; grandchildren, Brayden Cline, Tuff Clerihew, and Sadie Clerihew all of Fort Worth; parents, Bill and Carolyn Platt of Crockett; sisters, Donna Jasper and husband, Rob of Arlington, Darla Summers and husband, Jim of Arlington and Celianne Robinson and husband, Robin of Weldon. She also leaves behind numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services for Denise Platt Ynguanzo will be held Monday, October 24, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in the St. Francis of the Tejas Catholic Church with Rev. Father Matthew Stehling officiating. Interment will follow in the Parker Cemetery in Grapeland. The family will receive friends Sunday, October 23, 2016 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Callaway-Allee Funeral Home with a Rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m.
