Mattie Clark McLeod

Services for Mattie Clark McLeod, age 95 of Grapeland will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday at Liberty Hill United Methodist Church with Rev. Jack Chelf and Rev. Joanne Elliot officiating. Burial will follow in Augusta Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Baily & Foster.

Mrs. McLeod passed away Sunday at Winfield Nursing Center in Crockett. She was born November 30, 1920 in Crockett, TX. to Zackey David Driskill and Evvie Mae Johnson Driskill. She was reared in the Belott Community. She graduated from the Glover Schools and lived in the Augusta/Liberty Hill area her entire married life. She was married to John R. McLeod nearly 71 years before his death in 2011. Mrs. McLeod was a homemaker and a faithful servant who loved her church and family. She was an active member of the Liberty Hill United Methodist Church where she served as a treasurer and Sunday School teacher for many years.

Mrs. McLeod was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John R. McLeod. She is survived by her daughter Frances Jean McCaslin and husband Monroe, sons, Bobby McLeod and wife Bennie, James D. McLeod and wife Jeanne, Ronnie McLeod and Jerry McLeod and wife Betty, a sister-in-law Tennie Frances Chelf and husband Jack, and Hazel Driskill, thirteen grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Dave McLeod, Keith McLeod, Michael McLeod, Stephen McLeod, Todd McLeod and Wayne McLeod. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday at Baily & Foster Funeral Chapel, Grapeland.
