Marjorie King

Marjorie King, age 76, of Corsicana, formerly of Slocum, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, September 18, 2016 at Baylor Hospital in Dallas. Mrs. King was a devoted and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was also a licensed LVN for many years. She loved flowers, gardening, crocheting, and most of all, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was born on November 1, 1939, in Anderson County, Texas to Alfred Oscar Koepnick and Carrie Ruth Heath Koepnick.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Roland Gibson, and her second husband, Clifford King. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Vivian Sue Gibson; Sisters, Lucille Weisinger, Marilyn Gibbons, Gertrude Thrash; brothers, Fessell (Patti) Koepnick and Norman (Doolie) Koepnick.

Mrs. King is survived by her daughters; Ruby Gibson Coker and husband Jacky of Corsicana, and Becky Gibson Hoag and husband Lenny of Grapeland; grandchildren, Tina Coker Young, Sabrina Coker Zamzow and husband Brett, Carrie and Casen Coker, Nicolas Hoag and wife Lana, and Heather Hoag; and 8 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Dwight Franklin, Donald Weisinger, Billy Weisinger, Bill Boyd, Willis Morrison, Matt Ward, George Baldree, and Nicholas Hoag.

Mrs. King’s funeral services were held Wednesday, September 21, 2016 in the Rhone Memorial Chapel at 10am with Tony Neal and Davey Hobson officiating. Burial followed in the Guiceland Cemetery. The family received friends on Tuesday evening from 6 pm to 8 pm at Rhone Funeral Home, 3900 S. State Hwy 19, in Palestine, Tx 75801. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the American Kidney Fund, 11821 Rockville Pike, Suite 300, Rockville, Missouri 20852, (800-638-8299). Rhone Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
